tower defense game
The charm of tower defense games lies in the originality of many works and their strategic gameplay, I think!
A common game concept is to build defense facilities to protect your base and repel enemies. Players need to manage their budget and resources, deciding where to place which defense facilities and how to defend against enemy attacks. Tower defense games each have their unique rules and settings, and it’s fun to discover new elements!
Their popularity also comes from being easy to operate yet rewarding. It’s a genre that can be enjoyed by beginners and advanced players alike, loved by a wide range of people.
When creating a tower defense game in Scratch, you need to think of your own rules and settings, and have the technical skills to program the movements of defense facilities and enemies. You can also make the game more enjoyable by being creative with stage design and music.
There have been various tower defense games made in Scratch, with their own unique worlds, different defense facilities, and enemy attack patterns. By looking at other Scratchers’ works, you can expand your own ideas.
Let’s look at masterpieces made by other Scratchers to create your own fun game!

The gold standard of tower defense games by Griffpatch! Set up towers and destroy the enemies to prevent them from coming through. Defeating enemies will increase your cash, which you can use to buy more towers with. There are several types of attacks that the towers are capable of, so make sure to understand the characteristics of each one and think about where to place them to prevent the enemies. After a while, the enemies will start charging. If you're not ready by this time, the game will be over in no time, so be ready and set up your defense at a good pace.

A simple but fun tower defense game. There are 10 types of weapons you can use. You earn money by defeating enemies, and the more money you earn, the more weapons you can use. If you allow enemies to pass through, you will receive damage and lose health points. Think about where to place your weapons so that you don't miss quick enemies or enemies with strong durability. Click on each weapon to show its range as a white circle. Weapons that you no longer need can be sold and replaced with more powerful weapons. Once you get past wave 35, you will have collected almost all of the most powerful weapons. Even then, it's still quite difficult to reach wave 50 and beyond.

This is WWTD2, with new levels, towers, upgrades, bosses, a highscore system, and more!
Is it too easy or too hard?
Things to know:
- Only 2 or 3 towers of each type are allowed to avoid overpowered combos.
- You'll earn less money from enemies as you progress for added challenge.
- There's a short invincibility time after enemies are hit.
- The Levi Tower glitch from the first game should be fixed now.

This is a tower defense game in which you pop the balloons that come in. It looks difficult at first, but once you get the hang of it, you can let the characters pop the balloons automatically. First, choose a track. The top left one is the easiest. In the beginning, you can buy a cat that throws darts, so buy the cat and place it somewhere. When you place it, the circle will turn red if it cannot be placed there, and gray if it can. Popping the balloons will earn you money, so you can upgrade the cat or place more towers. While you play, a rock-hard balloon will come in, but you won't be able to pop that unless you have upgraded the towers. Therefore, increase the number of towers, but remember to keep upgrading them as well. This is super fun to play.

#10 Conquer the Enemy Fortress: A Tower Defense Game with Diverse Troops

- 2023.3.14
This tower defense game involves conquering enemy fortresses using various types of troops. The game has three difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, and Hard. As the difficulty increases, more types of troops become available. Each troop type has a set price, and once hired, they cannot be employed again until their cooldown time has passed. Money accumulates over time, so keep hiring troops and sending them to the frontlines. While expensive troops can perform powerful long-range attacks, they take longer to prepare for their next attack, so it is necessary to manage cheaper troops for defense. This game offers engaging strategic gameplay.
