poppy playtime
You ever hear about ‘Poppy Playtime’? Man, it’s this super dope horror game that’s been buzzing lately. And why, you ask? Let me break it down:
1. **Unique World Building**: The whole ‘popular toy factory from back in the day’ setting is fresh. It’s not just some run-of-the-mill abandoned place; there’s an underlying backstory that gets you hooked.
2. **The Creepiness of HUGGIE WUGGIE**: This character might look kinda cute at a glance, but the way it moves and behaves? Straight-up eerie. It’s like experiencing the dark side of ‘cuteness’.
3. **Innovative Gameplay**: It ain’t just about running away. There are tools you can use in-game and even some puzzle elements woven in. Makes it stand out from your average horror game, you know?
4. **On-point Sound Design**: From the footsteps to the unsettling music, they’ve nailed the details, keeping you on the edge of your seat the whole time.
5. **Compelling Yet Scary Story**: You’re left wondering what the real agenda is and why things went down the way they did. The need to know keeps you playing, even if it’s way past your bedtime.
So, how do you think these ‘Poppy Playtime’ vibes are being recreated on Scratch? I’m curious to see how other Scratchers are tackling it. Let’s dive in and see how this allure is being expressed on Scratch by checking out some other Scratchers’ works together!

The most remarkable thing about this Scratch project is how it creates 3D space using raycasting on a flat 2D canvas! It fires tons of rays in the viewing direction, calculates collision points with walls, and determines wall height based on distance. What's clever is how it stores each ray's calculation results in lists and depth-sorts them before rendering. This ensures proper front-to-back relationships. Plus, it uses rotation matrices to handle 3D viewpoint rotation, making smooth up-down-left-right camera movement possible. Pretty advanced math stuff, but it definitely amplifies the creepiness of Poppy Playtime!

"Poppy Playtime 2D" starts off as a simple action game. You can jump with the up key, crouch with the down key, and move left and right. As you wander, you'll be asked for a password. You might be confused, but keep exploring to find it. The password's location is hidden below to avoid spoilers. If you can't find it, have a look. After some wandering, you'll get a hand! It starts to feel more like Poppy Playtime. The first hand you get is blue, which you can use with a mouse click. Tinker with it to learn how it works. Using this blue hand, you can find keys and open doors. As you progress, you'll also get a red hand, which can be shot out with the space key. Use the blue and red hands skillfully to advance. And then... watch out for Huggy Wuggy! Good luck!
